Stomp is a fictitious music festival that blends Alternative and Americana music into a boot-stomping celebration at Golden Gate Park. This project was developed in the Graphic Design Studio course at UC Davis and allowed me to explore hands-on craft techniques, including stamp carving and physical collage.
Merchandise
To create the hoodie graphics, I printed physical copies of the Stomp logo and plated around with it using a scanner and moving the paper as the scan was processing. I then brought it into photoshop to further distort the form and appearance of the graphics.
The Stomp tote bag was another creation that involved physical manipulation the custom Stomp typeface that I created. By moving the printed text while scanning, a unique warped effect was created that harmonizes with the festival.
Ready to Drink
I chose to “collaborate” with surge due to its strong correlation with the 90’s. I branded the collaboration as a re-surge-ance, of the popular soda as it has been discontinued. The design features the custom stomp pattern in a neon green with a halftone effect, with the Surge and Stomp logos on top.
Ready to Eat
The “collaboration” with Hotpockets is another ode to popular 90’s snacks. The design portrays the custom “Punk Pizza” flavor, the Stomp pattern, and a scan-to-win QR code.
Poster
Creating the Stomp poster was a labor of love. It featured multiple rounds of printing, scanning, rearranging and layering assets from the brand. My favorite details is the transparent tape pieces which I scanned and photoshopped to interact realistically with the layers.
Digital Advertisements
Stomp ads were a similar process to the poster, a mixture of printing, scanning, rearranging and printing again until the layouts were balanced but funky.
